I have the same problem with NetCom in Norway and it's annoying as hell. Seems like sometimes, when receiving a call, the iPhone switches from 3G (HSDPA) to Edge (GPRS), dropping the 3G connection. I don't see why the setting itself should be switched to "off" though.

The network and chipset are perfectly capable of carrying voice and data simultaneously so I hope they can fix this bug soon...

Same issue here, shouldn't be a hard bug to track down as it happens every time..

I am trying to do what you allude to as the proper solution, which is compile unixODBC with i386 and ppc architectures. The reasoning is that my ODBC driver shipped with this arch, and apparently they have to match.

Using Macports as such:
sudo port install unixodbc +universal
gave me i686 and x86_64, which is still not working.

Thanks

I added a link to your blog entry from the adapters wiki page. Feel free to edit/expound as you see fit. Thanks for posting your findings! Would love to know if the tests still pass, which I'm sure they might. http://wiki.github.com/rails-sqlserver/2000-2005-adapter/platform-installation
